Compost Drop Off Membership
Clean, convenient, carbon friendly! For less than $7 a week, we’ll compost all of your food waste!
As a member, you will get a 5 gallon bucket to fill with food leftovers. Swap your bucket as often as you want for a clean, sanitized bucket at our drop off locations in Waimanalo, Kailua, and Kaka'ako.
We take care of all the composting and bucket cleaning.
Each month, you'll get a gallon of finished compost to feed your houseplants and garden. Monthly compost is available at all of our drop-off locations.
Our compost facility is industrial scale so we can compost more than what’s recommended in backyard piles. We can compost all of your fruit and vegetable scraps, as well as meat, fish, seafood, bones, dairy, grains, coffee, teabags, soiled 100% paper products. See our full list of what's acceptable below.
If you're signing up online, please contact us to schedule a time to get your first bucket and the gate codes for our self-serve drop-off locations. Contact Sean 808-978-2278

Composting via the membership has been an eye opener to how much we waste. We’re more aware of expiring produce and leftovers in our home and we have less to contribute to our weekly Opala pickup. The compost that we get back goes right into our slowly growing vegetable garden.
Parking has become impossible at the Sunday farmers Market . I am 75 years old and to carry the bucket , or even to roll it , it’s necessary to park in the lot .It is more and more common for the lot to be full NO MATTER what time I arrive .
This requires multiple trips around the neighborhood waiting for the lot to open . It can literally take an hour waiting to park . I have not taken the bucket to Waimanalo yet but I am considering that option . Just not convenient.
Thanks for the feedback, and we’re glad you love the company. We agree—the Sunday Farmers Market parking has become very difficult, especially when carrying a bucket.
We think you'll find the Waimānalo drop-off to be much more convenient. It is less than 10 minutes away from the Kailua market, open every day, self-serve, with easy parking and drive-up access right to the drop point. If you need help with directions or deciding if it’s a better fit, please call or text Sean at 808-978-2278.
So glad this is available. Leftover Love is easy, convenient, good for the environment, and something that is community-focused (as well as bigger picture-focused), and very positive in today's troubled world.
There's no way to compost where I live in Waikiki, so I'm happy to have the Leftover Love drop off location (that I can access when it works for me) at the Ocean Friendly Garden in Kaka'ako! I hope composting programs like this one keep growing in Oahu.
We’ve been using this service since late spring and love it. We’re keeping food waste out of the landfill and love that it converts into compost. Happy with multiple location drop offs. It’s so easy to exchange our full food waste bucket for a new one. However, haven’t gotten compost in awhile bc none has been available.
Thank you for the feedback! Let's get you caught up on compost! Please call or text Sean at 808-978-2278 to set a time to pick up your compost.
